Aladdin rubbed the lamp despairingly. An eternity later there was a puff of smoke, followed eventually by a flash. The Genie was nowhere to be seen. “When he turns up, I’ll wish for TheatreCom”, Aladdin ad-libbed.

Costume Interpretation volunteers needed at Chirk Castle.
Chirk Castle in Wales is owned by the National Trust and was built in 1310 by Sir Roger Mortimer. It is currently seeking volunteers to act as Historical Costume Interpreters.
There is currently one Guard on daily duty and two other volunteer Guards giving time during the week and at weekends. They would like to increase this with the help of more volunteers, male and female, so the daily life of medieval 14th Century at the Castle can be lived out on a daily basis through interpretation and interaction with Castle visitors.
If anyone has time to spare, either in the week or on a weekend and skills that they could bring, that would be great.
Basic costume and training will be provided and travel expenses will contributed to. It’s a great experience.
Please email: Andrew Humphreys at National Trust or call Chirk Castle on: 01691 777701

Do you have an amateur theatre success story to tell?
Rosie Fiore is a freelance journalist, beginning work on an article on the state of amateur theatre in the UK. She would like to show that amateur performance is vibrant, producing exciting new work, financially viable and moving with the times.
She is looking for good news stores from around the country.
· Has your organisation recently done a particularly successful show?
· Are you pulling in young people, both as members and audience?
· Does your organisation do work on a very big scale? Rosie is interested to
know about companies that use big theatres and have large production
budgets.
· Anything else unusual/forward thinking that you think may be
newsworthy.
If you have a story you would like to share, please email:
Rosie Fiore or call her on: (020) 8346 0420.
